Barcelona’s Museu Etnològic houses 10 permanent exhibitions featuring over 10,000 articles from five continents.
Downhill from the MNAC museum on Montjuic, the musuem reveals the history of the world’s peoples, their hardships, challenges and the objects they used in their daily lives. Origins looks at the creation of the museum and the research work carried out by ethnologists and ethonographers. Other collections on display are Catalonia, Salamanca, Japan, the mountain dwellers of Nuristan, Ethiopia, Australia, Papua New Guinea and pre-hispanic America.
