Situated at the foot of Montjuic, the Archaeological museum offers a window on the ancient history of Catalunya and pre-historic times.
The Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya preserves and researches archaeological remains up until medieval times. Learn about the journey taken by the Greek and Phoenician boats that led them to she shores of the Iberian penisula, find out about prehistoric animals and see authentic Roman treasures such as a doll discovered in nearby Empuries. The best archaelogical treasures of Catalunya are on exhibit in a museum that will captivate your children’s imagination. The Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya is only a short walk away from Plaza Espanya and offers guided visits as well as family workshops on Sundays from October to May.
