Take a cable-car ride for some great views of Barcelona and the chance to explore the city’s castle. Enjoy a barbecue lunch and some woodland playtime.
Explore the castle after a ride uphill by cable car from the Montjuic Funicular station (linked with Metro Parallel). You can also walk there from the Funicular in 10-15 minutes by road. There is a cafeteria serving hot food in the main patio. Outdoor cinema is also shown on a large screen in the grassy moat area on warm summer evenings. Also during the summer months a very relaxed bar opens up in the woodland at the back of the castle. La Caseta del Migdia, (follow signs along the port-view footpath) is a seasonal bar with DJ music, a barbecue lunch-menu and live music events. There is also a picnic area here, grass and shade. Just down from the castle’s drawbridge entrance is a children’s playground with cafeteria which features 2 super-long slides that will thrill the kids as they sweep down the slope from a unique vantage point over the city.
