Housed in an old textile factory, this art and cultural centre has a wonderful array of art exhibitions and workshops, concerts, cinema and family shows.
The CaixaForum is located just up the hill of Montjuïc close to the Magic Fountains. As well as the exhibitions there is lots of space for kids to enjoy whilst taking in a little culture. Kids over 12 can go up and take in the view from the the rooftop and the family can have meals, snacks cakes and drinks at the restaurant that has a small outdoor patio.
As well as the many free exhibitions, most of the family activities are free or cost around €4.00 and include children’s cinema, theatre and interactive vists. The best part of CaixaForum for kids is that each exhibit has a “Mini Labo” where children can take part in a workshop related to the artist. The workshops are suitable for children aged around 5-6 years and over and encourage children explore their creative side. There are also many family outdoor events held during the summer months.
