You will find children’s shops on the lower lever of the Diagonal Mar Shopping Centre and kids’ rides and activities outside on the restaurant level upstairs.   The Al Campo supermarket also offers a fairly wide selection of prams, toys and baby articles.   The Lego Fun Factory is a free activity on the first floor open to kids from 1 to 12 years with Lego Duplo for younger ones (Mon-Fri 5pm -8pm and Sat & Holidays 12pm to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm).   Monitors will take care of your child.  Prams may be rented for €3 /hr from Planta 1 next to El Mar del Nens and there is a baby feeding room on the car park level with armchairs and a microwave for bottle warming.

Over 30 shops, a cinema and restaurants to choose from. The centre, located over the bridge at the bottom of La Rambla, is a poular place for visitors. It is spacious, surrounded by water and is the place in the city that has chain shops open on a Sunday. For kids there are clothes stores Kiddy Class (up to 36 months) and Boboli, Casa Petit shoes, the Imaginarium Toy shop and Claire’s accessories. There is also a FC Barcelona Official Store and for child friendly eatinga Fresco, Mcdonalds, Haagen Daaz and Ben and Jerry’s. You also have a couple of spacious terraced restaurants including Tapas BCN where you can sit outside and look out over the water. You can also walk to the Imax Cinema and the Aquarium from here.

Gran Via 2 is one of Barcelona’s newest shopping centres located on the way out of the city towards the airport.  The centre houses more than 200 shops as well as a cinema and restaurants.  It is a surprisingly quite place to shop and worth the short metro or bus trip out from Plaza Espanya.  The centre offers a supervised children’s play area (Ludoteca).  The main supermarket is Carrefour and big name clothing shops for children include Zara Kids, H&M Kids, Benetton, Massimo Dutti Boys and Girls and C&A kids.

Spain’s best known department store has several shops located in the city of Barcelona. The main shop, located in Plaza Catalunya has 8 floors of clothing, cosmetics, household electronics, gardening equipment etc plus a supermarket in the basement and a restaurant overlooking the city from the top floor.The supermarket has a good selection of fresh produce: fruit and veg, meat and fish plus baked goods, a small health food section and some organic baby foods and formula. You can also find some international products from home. There is also a gourmand department on the same floor.
