The Correfoc of La Mercè, takes place around a central point along Via Laietana. Beginning at La Porta de L'Infern (Gates to Hell) on the Avinguda de Francesc Cambo at 8.30pm, the fire run ends at the C/ del Consolat del Mar at around 10.30pm.
A quieter version of this event takes place for children at 6.30pm - els Diables Petits begins at C/ de Joan Massana and finishes at Pl. Antonio Maura via Via Laetana at around 8pm. The family version uses lower-intensity fireworks.
With children you will want to keep your distance from the flaming devils, smokes and fire-breathing dragons. Not suitable for younger kids.
