If you would like to explore further afield or are continuing your journey elsewhere you can take main line trains from different stations around town.  The key train stations for national and international train journeys are Plaza Catalunya, Barcelona Sants, Estacío de França and Paseig de Gràcia.  Apart from Estació de França, each of these stations has metro connections (nearest Metro: L4 Barceloneta).  Check the RENFE website for local and long-distance train times and prices.   Bear in mind that the  same route may have different journey times and fares depending on which type of train you select (fast or stopping service).  In some cases it is advisable to buy or reserve your tickets/seats in advance at the station.  Trains usually have specific areas for luggage in each compartment as well as overhead storage.   Be sure to get to the station well ahead of time as it can sometimes take a while to find out which queue you should be joining and the platform that you need to go to.
