Private Healthcare in Spain

Over 90% of the Spanish population uses the Spanish National Health Service (INSALUD) yet it is not unusual to supplement this with some form of private healthcare policy. This can be either fully-comprehensive or contribute to a percentage of your treatment. If you are not lucky enough to be covered in a policy by your employer then you may still find an affordable policy that works for you and your family. Premiums can be anyway from around €35 to €80 a month depending on the network of medical professionals you can access and the age and sex of your family members. In more restrictive policies, if you do see a doctor outside of recommended network, you may still be refunded a major percentage of the fees by your healthcare company. Either way, Barcelona has fantastic offering or private clincs and top level medical professionals that a private policy can give you access too.
