The bright, bold and vivid colours of Catalan artist Joan Miró are very appealing to children which makes the Fundació Joan Miró a good choice of art gallery to head to with kids.
The foundation also has a programme of children's workshops and family shows at the weekends. The location of the gallery on the hill of Montjuic means that you can fit in a cultural stop whilst on a day out exploring the parks of Barcelona's hill or combine with a visit to the Olympic stadium and museum.
The ongoing Miró en Familia activity is an opportunity to explore the exhibitions armed with a printed guide tailored to families. Children from 5-10 years old, accompanied by an adult, can collect the information at reception (in Catalan or Spanish).
