An unusual museum dedicated to the weird and wonderful artefacts of world traveller and collector, Frederic Mares i Deulovol. As part of the Royal Palace, the building itself has been occupied by a succession of bishops, nuns and aristocracy throughout the last 7 centuries.
Frederic Mares, (1893-1991), first opened a museum in the small apartment which he occupied in 1948. As well as a fine collection of Romanesque and Gothic religious art, this eclectic museum's exhibits range from from a collection of clocks, costumes and crucifixes antique cameras, pipes and postcards.
Most fun of all there is a room filled with antique children's toys. The Café Estiu is situated in the pleasant courtyard (separate to the museum) where you can have a drink in the shade and the kids can play. See Eating Outdoors with Kids.
Open: Daily (except Mondays) from 10am to 5pm and Sundays and Public Holidays from 9am to 2pm
