Spend a day at the Barcelona Zoo, home to more than 4,000 animals from 400 different species along with dolphin shows, a petting farm and children's workshops.

13 Hectares of the main city park - Parc de La Ciutadella - are dedicated to the city’s zoo.  The zoo is a great way to spend the day with a selection of picnic areas and a fantastic wooden rope and play park for kids. As well as the petting zoo, pony rides are also on offer.  On Saturdays and during school holidays, children can also take part in one of the many zoo workshops. One way to take advantage of the zoo and its activities throughout the year is family membership to the Zoo Club.  Two adults and two children can visit as often as they please for an entire year all for a one-off payment.

“Mornings at the Zoo” are organised for kids aged 4 – 11 yrs and offer them the chance to learn about the lives of zoo animals, how dolphins are trained and also meet the zoo vet. Families can also take part in a special visit during which you will get to know the sealions and dolphins and find out what goes on behind the scenes at the zoo (Saturdays 10am-1pm).  “Children’s Saturdays”, offer special activities for zoo club members (6yrs – 10 yrs) and during the summer, day camps are run for budding zoologists (5yrs – 14yrs).
