Barcelona has a large number of both public and private swimming pools. Although in many cases you need to be a member of the gym to use the facilities, pools listed below offer entry on a daily basis. Outdoor pools are limited in number and as daily rates can be high you should plan to spend a while there. For cooling off, you can also head to one of the city's paddling pools. Many of the larger pools around the city run swimming classes for babies and parents and children 3 years and over. See also Baby Swimming Classes.
