SonarKids Festival 2009

SonarKids is an innovative Barcelona music festival created especially for parents and their children.  The full-day event, scheduled for Sunday 21st June, features a number of Spanish and international artists with adapted performances for younger audiences. The day also incorporates a variety of activities to stimulate children's creativity whist keeping them entertained.

The younger sibling of the popular Sónar festival, from the 18th-20th June, Sonarkids was conceived by a new generation of parents who continue to seek cultural and musical experiences with their children in tow.  

With a sound system suitable for little ears, this original event has been designed to introduce children to music festivals in a safe and enjoyable way. As well as experiencing an outdoor live music event, kids can also get creative with a range of activities that include:  DJ workshops, illustration workshops, hip hop dance classes, skate workshops and fingerboard -a minature version of skateboarding.

Occupying the outdoor spaces of the CCCB and MACBA, known as the Sónar de Dia venue, SonarKids also provides a Lego area, play area, picnic zone and bar.
