Vonblum - A Child-Friendly Café in Barcelona
In this comfortable and bright café, children are accepted as just another customer. Local office workers, passing tourists and mums with toddlers can all enjoy a fresh alternative for their morning coffee. As a welcome change from only croissants and "bocadillos", the café offers a light breakfast menu of muesli, yoghurt, bread and homemade jams. The options on the daily "menu del día" are also healthy, creative and inspiring.
Glancing around the walls of the café, you will notice a variety of items that are subtly on sale. Vonblum offers a showcase for unique designs and here you can buy children's paper wishboats, experimental jewellery and other unusual items.
On Thursday afternoons, parents can join in with a singing group for the under 2's. The downstairs area can also be hired for functions, meetings, celebrations and children's parties. Whether it is a business meeting, a tea tasting or a birthday event, Vonblum can provide the decoration and catering.

If you have abandoned
lunching out since having a baby or never seem to catch up with
friends other than in parks and playgrounds, now is the time to make a
date for the Vonblum café in Barcelona. Next to Paseig Sant Juan and
only a short walk from the Arc de Triomf, Vonblum offers a bright oasis
to parents looking for a smoke-free, child-friendly environment in the
city. As well as a great selection of teas, juices, healthy breakfasts, a daily menu and
homemade cakes, the café has a downstairs area with WIFI, seating and a
play space for younger children.
Vonblum's owner, designer Jessica Von Lehsten Goes, is mother to a 7 month old boy. The original concept of the café draws upon both her talent for design and her needs as a parent. Not only has she created a family-friendly place to eat, but she has also developed an original space that appeals to all types of clientele.
The surprisingly spacious WIFI and children's zone downstairs has plentiful seating, a blackboard wall for children to get creative, a selection of toys and "cosy corner". With its stylish decor and simplicity, the kids' zone blends comfortably in with the eating area. This naturally-lit room is a far cry from the indoor softplay centres that parents are so often forced to frequent.
