The Drama Factory - Summer Workshops in Barcelona

If you are looking for a special summer activity for your children, then registrations are being taken now for The Drama Factory Summer School.  The course is run by two native English speakers: Sophie Heydel a professional actress, storyteller and drama teacher and Libby Barnes a professional music teacher, who has been teaching music to children for 9 years.

This year’s theme will be Oliver! The Musical. From page to stage, participants will get to improvise scenes based from the story and write their own scripts. As well as learning to sing some of the show-stopping songs from this great musical they will give an end-of- week performance to family and friends.

The Drama Factory is a popular English language drama club for children that has been run by Sophie Heydel since 2003.  Based in Gracia, the summer workshops are offered to  children aged 7-11 years. They run for 4 hours a day and are divided into 2 parts, the first focusing on drama and the second on singing and dance.

If you can´t make the summer school this time then your children can participate in the after-school workshops. The Drama Factory are taking new club members from September 2008.  Classes are run every Thursday from 6pm-7pm for children ages 6-10 years.

The courses include improvisation, drama games galore, and an end-of-term performance, where members improvise and devise their own shows for friends and family.

The Drama Factory also offers courses to adults and to non-native English speakers
