Portrait photography often gets a bad press. Synthetic studio lighting and purple velvet backdrops may be what deters many people from having professional photographs taken of their children and family. Although this traditional style of portrait photography still lives on in many photographic shops around town, there is an alternative to those who want to capture these family images eternally. It is true that digital photography may leave a lavish margin for error but capturing that moment perfectly will always require a blend of technique, practice and natural talent...

 Paula Dietz Rauber is a Barcelona-based portrait photographer whose work is her passion.  “I adore portrait photography”, says Paula.  “My two great loves are my family and my work. I naturally specialize in babies, children and family photography because for me there is nothing more important in life than the moments we spend with our loved ones".

Paula works on location and only with natural light. Clients can choose where they would like the photographs taken: at home, in a park or on the beach. In Barcelona the options are endless.
Spontaneity plays a big role in Paula’s work and she places great emphasis on capturing natural, fresh images that truly reflect her subject’s personality. 

“I focus on the little details. The ones that truly characterize a person. It might be a glance, a gesture or the shape of a newborn’s feet”.  A mother of two children who are both regular subjects of her work, Paula knows how to put even the very youngest at ease and so get the best from them during the session.

“I like to help people document the most important stages of life and, as a mother myself, I know how quickly things and people change.  It is wonderful to be able to capture such precious moments. Nothing quite beats the feeling you have of looking through a photo album several years on. It sends you back in time, recapturing the thoughts and experiences you had when the pictures were taken”.

Paula, originally from Brazil, has lived in Barcelona for 6years. She speaks both English and German. As well as photographic sessions, she also mounts digital albums, storyboards and custom cards for a variety of occasions.

 Pregnancy photography is also Paula Dietz Rauber’s speciality.  “Kids in Barcelona” visitors  are offered a free photographic session for their new born baby with every pregnancy photographic session purchased.
