Diagonal Mar

Frindel

I can thoroughly recommend my daughter's nursery.  It's called Frindel, in the Diagonal Mar area.  It's mainly Castellano (owner is Argentinian), but they sing in Spanish, Catalan and they speak English when they go out to the park several times a week.  My daughter has been going since she was a year old and loves it.  They are all lovely people, very friendly and open, flexible.  My son will surely be going there too next year.

Ciutat Vela

BCN Kinder

My eldest son started nursery aged 8 and a half months with BCN Kinder 2 years ago, and stayed for a year. They were very flexible there, as I was able to start him on just 2 mornings per week, and then build it up to him going every morning. He was very happy there, and although the space is small with limited daylight, there were varied activities, with outings to the Ciutadella park twice a week. Parents were also encouraged to stay with the little ones at the beginning to help them settle in.

Littleland

I was so happy to find Littleland since I didn't like the many of the other options I had found at all.  So far I love the open door policy and the atmosphere there in general.  I think it is a warm, caring environment and my daughter has not had any trouble adjusting.  She is 2.5 yrs and only goes three hours in the morning.  She also has a big brother who she has seen go to school so it wasn't new to her - just to put things in context.  I do recommend it to anyone looking for something different than local daycares.
