Science Lab Courses for Kids in August
During the first week of August, Science-Lab is offering children
the chance of carrying out interesting and varied scientific
experiments. Daily courses run from 10am and 4pm. Children can take part in fun
activities at this venue in Valldoreix (Sant Cugat). Experiments will include tone and sound, energy and electricity, space and colours. Courses are available for 4-12 year olds and are run in Spanish and German. For further

Every Friday. children will have the opportunity of meeting a special
guest from the countries they are exploring: India, Norway, South
Africa, Senegal, Italy,the United States, El Salvador... These guests
will share their own cultural perspectives through a special activity.
The summer camp is led by a team of professional English teachers, all

hosting a small summer camp at their home in El Masnou. The summer programme, attended by their

The Institute of North American Studies (IEN) in Barcelona offers a Junior-Teen teaching programme for English learning all year long, except in August. From October to June, classes emphasizing listening and speaking skills are available for children from 3-18 years of age as well as English classes which emphasize reading and writing skills for Bilingual Children from the ages of 6-14. Summer intensives for children from 4-18 years of age are offered in July & September. The Summer Thematic programme, which works on different themes and stories in order to improve oral expression & comprehension, is offered to different age groups from 4-10 years of age. Two-hour intensives, which work on listening and speaking skills, are available to children 10 years old and above. The Masella English Summer Camp, in the Pyrennees, usually takes place in the month of July for children between 8-15 years of age.

The Fundacio Pere Tarrés has a wide variety of summer programmes for
both young children from 3-12 years and older teenagers at
various locations in and around Barcelona. You can opt for morning or
full day sessions with courses running from the 25th June to the 1st of
August and the 1st of September until the 10th. The foundation offers
flexible programmes and timetables with an additional before and after
care service.

Activities range from workshops to games, sports,
drama, story telling, swimming and outings. From the end of June and
throughout July they run English language Summer Camps near Barcelona
at various locations on the coast and inland. Children of from 6-12
years are offered a real hands-on English language experience. Week
long Sports camps for this age group are also held close to the city in
Tiana. For older kids from 12 to 17 years there are options for sports camps,
English language camps and activity camps in Mallorca. Children may
also go on a cultural visit to England in association with
International House Barcelona. If you want your kids to put some effort
in during the summer, you may even consider sending them on one of the
Environmental work camps offered around the city.
