baby milk 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi. Does anyone know if you can buy Aptamil formula in Barcelona? Also I have heard that you shouldn't use the tap water to make it up - you should use no/low sodium bottled water. Does anyone know where I can get it when I am there?

Hi,

As for water the Font Vella or Solan de Cabras brands are good to use for babies as they have the low sodium content.

Milupa Aptamil 1 or Milupa Aptamil 2 are the products in Spain (2 is the same as the follow-on milk in the UK with prebiotics). The blends can be slightly different apparently so the best is always to bring your own if you are not here for too long. You can most likely find the Milupa brands in pharmacies as it is definitely here.

If we find an exact address will let you know!

You can get Aptamil in lots of supermarkets, e.g. Alcampo, Carrefour, and most pharmacies will order it for you if they don't already have it (will arrive in the afternoon if you order it in the morning). Expect to pay 11-12€ for a 900g can. You'll have to make it up in mls, unlike in the UK where it's in ozs, as the scoop is a very slightly different size here. I have never had problems using Aptamil bought here, then Aptamil bought in the UK when visiting family there. I chose that brand through recommendation and precisely so I didn't need to carry it when travelling. As for bottled water, Font Vella and Evian are fine, or any that say 'indicada para la preparacion de alimentos infantiles' on the label. I buy one called Montcalm.
