private transfer booster seat requirements 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hello, I am bringing my family of 4 kids aged 7-11 to Barcelona in April. I've decided to get a private transfer to avoid any hassle and wondered if anyone could recommend a reliable company and also if i would need to hire booster seats for the journey? Seems a lot of extra cash if not really needed.
Thanks folks

Hello,

There is a Barcelona taxi service that can provide baby seats and boosters (although a limited number) but unfortunately by law can only carry 4 people as with all of the licensed taxis. You could perhaps take 2 taxis if there are 2 adults travelling as it can still work out more economical than a transfer service. All the transfer companies that we have been in touch with do not seem to offer this service. Hopefully somebody has a recommendation for you. The other option is simply to take the airport bus service which is almost as quick as a taxi into the city, stopping at Plaza Espanya and Plaza Catalunya.

Please Contact Us if you would like the taxi details

Hi again I have found a web based company with good reviews that will do a return transfer for £100. I am quite happy for the kids to travel without booster seats and just using car seat belts but wondered if this would be ok, how strict are the laws? Here in a taxi it's more relaxed and seat belts are ok.
Thanks

Hi,

The law is that up to the age of 12 or 135 cm, children must travel with a booster seat. Although in the city taxis do not seem to oblige you to travel with a seat (even with young children!) they usually do when out of the city limits. I think you should check with the transfer company directly to see what they say. The taxi firm we know that can usually provide boosters charge around 38 euros each way although as there are more than 4 of you, you would need 2 vehicles.
