BCN Kinder Nursery
bcnkinder.jpgTucked away in a quiet street in Barcelona's Gotico area, BCN Kinder is a bilingual nursery offering places to pre-school children from 1-5 years.  Groups operate in either Catalan or a combination of Catalan and German. Halloween Celebrations
Seasonal parties this week include the American Society's Halloween breakfast at the Hard Rock Cafe, spooky games at Fish and Chips and halloween celebrations at the Aventura Park indoor play centre in Diagonal Mar shopping centre.   The American Society are also hosting an evening party on the 31st where families can enjoy a special menu earlier in the evening...see events list

Castanyada
Castnayadas at Poble EspanyolOn the 1st of November, Catalunya celebrates All Saints Day with its traditional Chestnut Festival of the "Castanyada". Roasted sweet chestnuts, "Castanyes", are eating outdoors accompanied by entertainment.  Also at this time of year you will see "Moniatos", sweet potatoes on sale and "Panellets", small marzipan and almond balls coated with pine nuts. Sweet wine is also, traditionally, consumed. Check with your local Civic Centre for celebrations in your area.  Poble Espanyol are also kicking of Gastronomy month this Sunday and are marking the occasion with a Castanyada, show and family workshops.  A main Castanyada party with kids' entertainment and activities also takes place on Friday evening in the Parc de la Barceloneta...see events list

Art and Dance at the MNAC
Ball de Bestiari at the MNACChildren can take part in two different cultural workshops at the National Musum of Art this weekend. They can try their hand at sculpture alongside the exhibit by Juli González or take part in the Ball del Bestiari, learning an unusual dance alongside imaginary animals...see details

Timeout for Parents
Sophie HeydelIf you would like to brush up on the legendary story of King Arthur then here is your chance.  The Lady of the Lake leads you through the Legend of Kind Arthur, a magical, musical and dynamic storytelling in English for native speakers and advanced learners at the Llantiol Theatre. Written and performed by Sophie Heydel, the show is a hilarious romp all the way from the enchanted creation of Arthur to Morgan la Fey's revenge on Camelot. Not recommended for children. The Kids in Barcelona Children's Fair
Congratulations to Hannah from Valldoreix who won 4 pots of sauce from the Fresh Curry Company in the free draw and to Tiffany Doyne-Ditmus, the lucky winner of a personalised birthday cake from Barcelona Cakes at our Children's Fair last Saturday. A big thank you to all those who came along and especially to those who participated with a stall. There was a a great selection of second-hand items on offer as well as some delicious cakes and cookies.
