Street Festivals
Barcelona festivals taking
place this week are the Festa Major of Sarría and the Festa Major of Les
Corts. In Sarría, visitors can see the transformation taking place in
the remodelled Parc del Torrent de Les Monges which will soon provide residents
with a new green space and children's play area. In Les Corts there is
outdoor cinema, a craft market and highlights for children that
include games mornings, magic shows, bouncy castles, xocolatadas and the Circorts circus acts ...see Events List
Active Kids
You
can now get even the very youngest up and moving thanks to two new
activity classes for children in Barcelona. Creative dance classes for
ages 3-6 years start this month in Poble Nou which allow children to
explore sound, movement and rhythm accompained by music from around the
world. Gym-style classes are also now running for children ages 1-3
year and 3-5 years in both Gracia and Clot. Kids can impove their
confidence and motor skills via a range of physical activities offered

Pre-School Group in English
An Early Performers English Pre-school group for 3-6 year olds opens on the 7th October in the Borne. This small group aims to provide a high quality and stimulating learning experience for children. Sessions will follow the English Foundation Stage with the additional focus on the performing arts: dance, drama, singing and music. All sessions will be run by an experienced teacher. Theatre and Puppetry
The Fundació Joan Miró begins its theatre season with En Patufet this weekend, a puppet show filled with music and song. Barcelona's dedicated Puppet theatre, La Puntual also has a full programme throughout October that includes traditional shows, shadow puppetry and a rare chance to see an ancient and colourful artistic performance by an Indian theatre group all the way from Rajastan...see Family Theatre
Barcelona Zoo Mornings
A real treat for children aged 4-11 years are the educational mornings held at the Barcelona Zoo every Saturdays. Kids get a behind-the-scenes visit to the zoo that gives them the opportunity to learn about the animals. meet the keepers and take part in activities. Walking on Stilts
