Festival of Sant Joan in Barcelona
Sant Joan BarcelonaIf you are planning to get any sleep on Monday night, you should remember that the rest of the city isn't. It may be one of the shortest nights of the year, but during the hours of darkness from sunset on the 23rd June through to Sant Joan's day on the 24th June, the skies will be lit up with colour and fire.

For those with small children you may decide to buy a "coca", make yourself comfortable and listen to the banging and commotion from the comfort of your own home.

Street parties, fireworks and bonfires are scheduled around the city.

For information on where to celebrate the night of Sant Joan, what "Revetlles" mean or what goes into a traditional "Coca" cake...read the Festival of Sant Joan Guide here
