World Environment Day
Scary at it may seem, statistics place Barcelona as the 8th most polluted city in the world. On the 5th June, World Environment Day, you can make your contribution to a cleaner city. Residents are encouraged to leave their cars at home, cycle or
walk to work or take advantage of Barcelona's well-connected public
transport system...See children's activities

"Everyone On your Bike!" Week
Barcelona is devoting the entire next week to the celebration of the Bicycle as a cleaner form of transport. During La Semana de la Bicicleta, activities are taking place around town, culminating in the Rollerskate and Bicycle festival on Sunday 8th June.
On Thursday June 7th, prizes will be handed out to anyone riding a bike at several points around town. Pedal pushers will also be rewarded with a free breakfast served between 7.30am and 10.30am at various locations in the city. Electronic ecobikes will be available to try at the Forum and free bike rental is being offered from a location in the Born all week. Children from ages 3-7 years can take a ride around a mock traffic circuit and test out their road proficiency, courtesy of Biciclot while bikers old and young can sign up for cycling lessons in Pl. de Catalunya
