Carnival or Carnaval in Barcelona begins on the 11th February when Fat Thursday marks the
beginning of a week of celebrations and parades before the austere
period of Lent. The celebration of Carnaval
almost certainly has its routes in pagan
rituals and festivals. Today, it is yet another colourful tradition to

As part of the Dan Dansa family season at Barcelona's dance theatre el Mercat de les Flors, Å, Marja, fly, fly is
production featuring a ladybird and a fairy that is dedicated to
children from 6 months to 4 years old. The show's characters find
themselves
lost in a strange, colourless place where unusual things happen.
The choreography is inspired by children's games and the movements of a
ladybird. Children are able to interact with the dancers and

musicians from the St Anthony High School Orchestra of Long Island New
York are performing a free concert in Barcelona. This one-night only
performance, from an orchestra that has visited several countries
